United States of POP 2010

I hv to give credits to Jordan Roseman (aka DJEarworm).
I bet most of u know who he is.
Since 2007, there is an annual mashup featuring the top 25 songs of the year according to Billboard magazine.

As usual, there is one for 2010.

Quoted,
"Yet another installment in what has become an annual New Year’s tradition. It’s the United State of Pop, which mashes up the Top 25 songs of the year, according to Billboard magazine.

In 2010, pop has gone into serious all-out party mode. In 2009 the music was encouraging us to pick ourselves back up after being knocked down again, and to rock out to some great dance music while you’re at it. This year’s music tells us to keep going now that we’re up and having fun. In fact, the fun seems to be in such overdrive that it borders on recklessness. Usher urges us to ‘dance like it’s the last night of your life”, and Katy Perry wants us to “run away and don’t ever look back”. Even the songs that aren’t about parties have parties in their videos, like this year’s entries from Mike Posner and Lady Antebellum.

It’s a great thing about music that you can leave your worries and lose yourself in the moment. In our current world of dance pop culture fantasy, this takes place at a club, where you can drink, meet the most amazing person you’ve ever met, and where as Ke$ha says, “the party don’t stop”.

Personally, as a DJ performing mostly at raging party-ish events, I can relate. My career path has been crazy lately, and I’m definitely not ready for the party to stop!
So with that in mind I urge you all please……DON’T STOP THE POP"

Gosh..... DJ Earworm.... I love u so bad!
Not just only boz of yr sophisticated mixing skill, but also yr belief.
It is so true that when I can leave my worries and lose myself on music, it becomes a great thing.
That's why I love Ke$ha's songs.
  1. I can relate to it
  2. I can leave my worries whenever I hear those dance beats and hardcore party melodies (esp during my A-Level exam)
  3. I hv fun when listening
Oops.... that's a little bit off-topic.

Back to last year (2010) music, I only hv 1 word, 5 letters to say: PARTY!
(similar meaning goes to CLUBBING)
Even the first no.1 song on billboard hot 100 last year is a party song. Correction: I would say it is an anthem.
What song is that? Of coz, it's the unforgettably repetitive but ridiculously catchy song - TiK ToK.
Yes, 2010 was started by a party song. U just can't deny that. And the no.1 spot held for 9 consecutive weeks lol. I'm speechless.
Later on, there is Break Your Heart by Taio, Rude Boy by Rihanna, California Gurls by Katy, Like A G6 by Far East Movement and We R Who We R by Ke$ha again. It was a huge party through whole year wherever there was a radio. Party song in spring, summer, autumn and winter. (Go check the time of the above no.1 songs, u will know wt i mean)

That's why the song United States of PoP 2010 is named "Don't Stop the PoP"

ps. an YouTube comment responding to the video is
"No Justin Bieber in this, thank God."
I laughed so HARD!!! <3
Poor little JB, go kiss yr own ass!
