Katy Perry 2nd heading tour - The California Dreams Tour launched at 2.20.2011 at Lisbon, Campo Pequeno.

During the show, Katy covered serveral songs:
1) Only Girl (in the world) - Rihanna
2) Big Pimpin' - Jayz
3) Whip My Hair - Willow Smith

Katy turned Rihanna's song into a sad song, I luv it tho :D
(and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RIHANNA", Katy shouted lol)

I dun like this song, dun hate neither, but I know I'm gonna LOVE the music video.

What's that mean? "Thank God it's Friday" (Thanks, Katy, u teach me a new word :) )
I really really love this song and am already addicted to it when I first hear it.
I hv to admit that the lyrics are kinda meaningless, just as likely as most songs of Katy's fd - Ke$ha. It's just about PARTYing.
but who cares? It's pop song, which u always listen to it and want to hv fun / bring u joy.
Although the lyrics are shallow, it does can make me feel I'm on friday night now.
So relaxing, lighthearted, positve, bright.
I keep smiling when I listen to it.
Most importantly, all teenagers, or even adults, love FRIDAY NIGHT. That's the period give us a break, a hope and a new start.

ps. hope that can be 4th single.

TBF, I dun like this song much.
So strange that its melody is familiar to me, esp the line "You just gotta ignite the light. And let it shine. Just own the night. Like the Fourth of July".

I know it's too subjective to score this song with just 2.5 points.
But it's hard 4 me to give it a higher score while I dun like its melody.

That's an OK song.
Its lyrics are realistic.
Listening to this song is likely as watching a drama on TV.
Yet, quite boring due to its melody & structure.
I luv the following lines tho.

I shoulda told you what you meant to me. woe
Cause now I pay the price."

That's better than Katy's one imo.
Natasha's voice gives me a feeling that she's a tough girl.
In contrast, Katy's voice is softer and so projecting a weaker image of her.

Boz it's a perfect combination.

What's the meaning of this song?
Is it talking about some supernatural & extraterrestrial thing?
Or Katy's love relationship with a man or even an alien?
Wtever thing it talks about, the song is kinda creepy.
But it's just metaphorical.

The melodies & lyrics are catchy.
"Kiss me, k-k-kiss me, take me, t-t-take me"
Hope that can be a single as the music video would be fun.

Luv listening to this song at midnight to daybreak. That's the time I ready to sleep.
Everytime I listen to it, I picture that a pearl necklace is sinking into the sea, into a deep sea trench which is dark & silence. But then, a mermaid will swim down there and pick it up.
Haha, that's just my feeling and imagination, nothing to do with the lyrics and meaning of this song.

The CALIFORNIA GURL, Katy Perry, gives us more from her coming album - Teenage Dream.
Few days ago, both her album cover and full-length new single came out.

Album Cover first:
When I first saw this, I "WOW" & "LOL".
After the shock, I was not "Laughing out Loud", but I was speechless.

1) A naked Katy lying on the cotton-candy-cloud? That's too much for me! I'm really not that into naked women... It looks like a PG pornographic to me. XD But I hv to admit that this is kinda fantasy & dreamy. That fits to the name of her album.

2) No words on the cover!? It's uncommon. (Ppl like Lindsay & Whitney did the same thing B4 but I didn't notice) I hvn't seen like that previously. But it's too plain without texts or logos. Hope it isn't the final work.



New Single "Teenage Dream" - Sweet song

When I first listened to CG few months ago, I said "Katy, U rock. I barely can find another recent songs that can compare to yours." But now, after I listen to TD, I hv to say: Katy, U rock again!

I personally feel that Teenage Dream is a chill-out period after CG. It's not about beautiful scenery or attractive girls in California any more. I think TD includes a deeper meaning than CG (though it's talking about Sex dream)... I specially like the following lines: "so take a chance and dont ever look back, dont ever look back" & "i finanly found you my missing puzzle piece, im complete"

B4 telling u how I like this song, the fact is that I almost CLOSE the window media player boz of the first verse... It's too high pitched! HA But after that, the song jumps to the pre-chorus. Then, I gave it a chance and kept listening. When the chorus is finished, I like the song. I esply like the melody of this song's bridge.
Yes, I hv used LIKE but NOT LOVE several times on the above as this song has yet to grow on my mind.

Anyway, another top 10 material! I guess.

2010 Summer Hits

My 1st entry of this blog, and it's summer now. (Really hot in HK!) So let's talk about SUMMER SONG! These days, I went cycling, camping, hiking, also to the beach, theme park etc. All are outdoor activities and what songs hv I played on my Ipod-touch while travelling?

2010 Summer Hits

My own choices:
1. California Gurls - Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg

I bet we all agree that this is one of our most successful 2010 summer hits. 6 weeks on the top spot of Billboard Hot 100 so far. First, its lyrics kill it! “Palm trees, golden coast, daisy dukes, bikinis, sun-kissed skin, popsicle”. Second, the melody is fun, relaxing and upbeat. Not to mention its music video, we can’t forget the bird-Flipping Gummi Bear & Katy's Whipped Cream Bra. I really want to spend some days in California!




2. Your Love Is My Drug - Ke$ha

I thought it'd be a huge summer hits, but it turned out to be 3weeks No.8; 2weeks No.7; 2weeks No.4 on Hot 100. Who knows that there’re so many competitors among it, esp California Gurls. Although the lyrics of this song are only related to love but not summertime, the melody is not less upbeat than Katy’s one. Most importantly, YLIMD is a lot funnier than CG. For example, the paragraph Ke$ha raps out; she laughs at last and says “I like your beard”.
Our summer needs to be fun, this song actually helps! Comparing to CG, Katy just sings the song but losing her unique voice & personality (like her voice in "I kissed a girl" & "Waking Up In Vegas").


3. TiK ToK - Ke$ha & I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
Perhaps these 2 songs are quite out-dated but I never stop listening to them since they’re released.
“Wake up in the morning feeling like P.Diddy, Don’t stop Make it pop”
“Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Saturday to Sunday. Party every day, p-p-party every day"
It’s PARTY anthem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never get bored ;]


4. Airplanes - B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams
I listen to this song boz of Hayley Williams. B.o.B? I dun know much about him but in this song, I dun know why, I think he is likely to Eminem.
Btw: instrumental of this song is awesome!

5. Nothin’ On You – B.o.B ft. Bruno Mars
Love this song so much! Bruno Mars’s voice is fu*king sexy. <3 I kinda believe that he'll become popular fall 2010 or spring 2011. He's talented.
Still dun care about B.o.B…




6. Billionaire – Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars again!!! Yes, I’ve gone crazy a little bit… Back to the song, Travie did a great job. I like its lyrics as well.





7. Take It Off - Ke$ha
This SHOULD be a summer hits!!!!!! An awesome song can be played in disco, club, beach, party and of coz, on the radio! Those bases from the intro/opening work the song out! Incredibly catchy! They’re likely to our heartbeats. “thump thump thump thump…”
Every time I listen to this song, I pop my chest! Ha! Everybody should dance to this song. And the promotional photoshot of the music video is pure perfect! An new image of K$. Can’t wait any longer.




Summer single/hit I dun like:

1. Alejandro - Lady Gaga
I love this song since “The Fame Monster” came out. But single for the summer??? Gaga team….. U obviously made a mistake. I know this is catchy but the mood is kinda sad. I don’t wanna be sad in summer -.- And the music video sucks!!! Gaga… maybe u should release it in winter. I played this song several times tho. “Hot like Mexico rejoice” YEAH!

2. O.M.G - Usher ft. will.i.am
OMFG! This song is fu*king annoying!!!!! Why does it still on Billboard??? Go away…… I remember that when this song spotted No.1, I said “OMG”! To say this is one of our summer songs, it’d rather to be the World-cup themed song. The “oh, oh, oh, oh, oh …..” backing vocals make me feel like I’m a spectator in the football court.

3. You Lost Me - Christina Aguilera
More or less the same as Lady Gaga. Wrong single choice. Who wanna listen to a slow sad ballad in the summer which is full of excitement? This song helps nothing to her flopping album... Actually, she should release "Woohoo" or "Bionic"! Her performance on MTV Movie Awards 2010 is amazing (no matter she lip-syned or not). She looks beautiful in her coming music video tho.
